http://www.usatoday.com/news/health/2008-09-24-healthcvg_N.htm reports on the rising costs of obtaining less coverage for your run of the mill American. Does anyone wonder why the government is finding money, lots of money, to bail out financial organizations while scratching its collective heads about addressing health insurance?
It's not complicated, just go to a governmental webpage, any government, local, state, federal and read about their health benefits. Available to them and their family members, it reads like an old fashioned "we've got you covered" policy that employees with a certain number of years (sometimes as few as five) years of service can count on for the rest of their lives.
Government employees are not hit with the consequences of the health insurance crisis.
Until we do away with governmental health insurance policies that are vastly superior to those available to ordinary citizens, government won't act.
