Pro-Sports Advertise Obamacare

Before the new sports ads for Obamacare hit the airwaves, it’s time for parents to review the realities of what’s going on in this country with their young adult children, especially, if they are paying for their grown children’s health insurance.

There is a loyalty in the young population that inspired loyalty to the President in spite of his abysmal performance on their behalf.

They voted the President in again with the promise of no new income taxes, though, like the rest of us, their checks are subject to the payroll tax increase that Obama did not discuss.

Open-minded, they supported the President after he gave young illegal residents amnesty, flooding the job market with workers of their own age group, who, in many cases are bilingual, who can now legally directly compete with them for jobs.

They hopefully await the student loan forgiveness program that might pass in some way, shape or form and provide them with the hope of someday getting rid of the debt they’ve accumulated going to school.

Their unemployment rate stubbornly remains in the double digits.

And when it comes to Obamacare, wow. Now, if parents are paying the bill, then young adults will not fully understand what’s being done to adults and young adults. But perhaps their parents won’t be able to pay that bill. After all the rates for young adults are going to go up faster than most other segments of society because old limits that stated that non-young people could be charged up to five times more in premiums than young, healthy people NEXT YEAR are wiped away for Obamacare’s three time limitation, meaning that non-young people premiums can only be up to three times as much as young people. Where will insurance companies make up the money they lose on additional premiums from the non-young? The young.

As they’re being “encouraged” to purchase insurance through health exchanges, and they should if they have no other options, young people should also make sure that they take advantage of premium assistance currently available in paying for insurance coverage. After all, theirs are the premiums that will skyrocket.

As they’re being threatened about the tax consequences of non-participation, young people should purchase health insurance to avoid some of the catastrophic consequences that would occur if they became sick. Of course, avoiding bankruptcy is not one of the benefits of Obamacare in the event of illness, especially since the bronze plans will only cover 60 percent of medical costs (after deductible), and the silver will only cover 70 percent.

As for the sports figures who will effectively sing the praises of Obamacare, they don’t care about health insurance costs, young people KNOW that.

These ads are the last-ditch effort of a President who has alienated almost every other group of supporters he had. It will be interesting to see whether young people will continue to be sold or whether they’ll realize that they’re going to be told in nice language to submit. Until they realize the difference, gimmicks like this one will work.
