National Association of Insurance Commissioners, Complaints

Getting data compiled, especially regarding complaints is a tough situation with health insurance. The issue of a largely state-regulated industry has brought many frustrated consumers to their state insurance departments. The NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF INSURANCE COMMISSIONERS website
http://www.naic.org/index_about.htm is a website that claims to be promoting the public interest through its membership of Insurance Commissioners from each of the 50 states. The site also has a research button by company so that consumers can check out the number of complaints against different insurers. Here there is a challenge, my insurance company is not listed. The idea is a good one because many times the issues facing insureds are not decipherable until there is a claim made/denied, coverage assumed/not provided or some other negative consumer experience. When you're writing your complaints, include the National Association of Insurance Commissioners.
