COVID-19 Vaccines and Shamer/Blamers

Of science, facts and zealots. Already I've seen cartoons making fun of those who are hesitant about the COVID-19 vaccinations, read articles and listened to zealots whose virulent shame/blame strategies are directed to those who are hesitant, and zealots who are already infecting social media.

Worse, we're hearing about businesses and other entities getting ready to require a "vaccination card" type verification from people. This is NOT science or math but at its best must be labeled "premature."

Unfortunately, it's not at its best and the shamer/blamers are already implementing their familiar strategies of manipulation of the population into accepting injections into their bodies using their tools of peer pressure, shaming by misusing words like anti-vaxxer and science and following a herd bully mentality that would appall most people if it was utilized in a different way, like, let's say to mandate people to use pharmaceutical birth control despite the dangers associated with those APPROVED drugs.

Imagine if the use of mechanical/pharmaceutical birth control was MANDATED. I'm certain, we'd hear about choice, the science of risks and how different individuals want to choose for themselves, though the dangers of population growth are well documented and according to the CDC short of sterilization the implant and IUD are the most effective methods with injectables coming in second.

The COVID-19 vaccine bullying is worse because the vaccines are NOT approved by the FDA and newly on the market have documented and notable side effects.

So, a word of caution, you are responsible for the consequences of your zealotry with the premature implementation of shamer/blamer approaches to getting people vaccinated with the COVID-19 vaccine. You are a perpetrator if you dismiss, name-call, or talk about people "deserving to get COVID-19," or support penalizing individuals for believing based on the current SCIENCE that for themselves getting vaccinated is PREMATURE.

There are FACTS about the vaccines.

So far there are two vaccines Moderna and the Pfizer have received FDA Emergency Use Authorization. No vaccine has received FDA approval, a much more rigorous process.

The CDC right now does RECOMMEND the vaccination but NOT for everybody including those under 16 for the Pfizer and those under 18 for the Moderna and those with certain allergies. So already, your zealotry is just that, non-scientific belief bullying, NOT everyone should get the vaccine.

Pfizer and Moderna cannot be sued unless there is "willful misconduct" for any bad results that occur in individuals who are vaccinated.

You will not be charged for the COVID-19 vaccine as of now. You WILL be charged if you are admitted to the hospital or visit a physician in connection with side effects, etc.

If your side effects are severe, right now you are not provided by law with additional COVID-19 vaccine sick days.

There are already companies talking about MANDATING a proof of vaccination which will be the FIRST TIME a vaccine that is NOT approved by the FDA will be mandated at the risk of loss of rights, such as travel, or opportunities, such as work.

OK, so now you see why the shamer/blamer gang of perpetrators trying to persuade, convince and manipulate are doing just that, the science is not nearly definitive as their conjured conclusions based on what they believe.

The Emergency Use Authorization is a big deal whether it's used to "mandate" a vaccine or justify a "vaccination card," or is used by irresponsible big mouths trying to blame/shame people into getting something they've decided is OK, but the US government has not yet given approval to. This is a slippery slope and shortcutting rigor in the approval process as method of forcing a population to do anything is PREMATURE.

The Emergency Use Authorization by the FDA of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines is NOT FDA approval and that is SCIENCE. Like the COVID-19 outbreak itself, the vaccines are new and promising, but not FDA approved. Pressuring people to do something based on conclusions contrary to the FDA, which has not approved the vaccine except under the EUA, demanding that people inject a vaccine into their bodies as a cure or having them face the ignorant herd's condemnation is BULLYING, is PEER PRESSURE, is UNFAIR, is DANGEROUS, but it certainly is NOT science.

The FDA has issued EUAs for the two vaccines. The FDA has NOT approved the vaccines. This is also significant to those who consider SCIENCE. While encouraged and encouraging vaccination, the FDA has NOT approved the vaccines. Remember, the FDA also gave an EUA for chloroquine or hydroxychloroquine on March 28, 2020 and the FDA revoked that EUA on June 15, 2020 [https://www.fda.gov/media/138945/download.]

Johns Hopkins Medicine has reported on: "IS THE COVID-19 VACCINE SAFE?" and in a section entitled, "Does Johns Hopkins Medicine recommend I get a COVID-19 vaccine?" states that "You alone make the decision about whether to get a COVID-19 vaccine."

The same article discusses "Authorization for emergency use,"  and that it"…provides temporary authorization of a vaccine or mediation under emergency situations, such as the coronavirus pandemic." https://www.fda.gov/news-events/press-announcements/fda-takes-key-action-fight-against-covid-19-issuing-emergency-use-authorization-first-covid-19

So what did the FDA report? On December 11, 2020, the FDA stated: "The FDA has determined that Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine has met the statutory criteria for issuance of an EUA. The totality of the available data provides clear evidence that Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine MAY BE effective in preventing COVID-19." (emphasis added)

The FDA also discusses sample size: "The available safety data to support the EUA include 37,586 of the participants enrolled in an ongoing randomized, placebo-controlled international study, the majority of whom are U.S. participants. These participants, 18,801 of whom received the vaccine and 18,785 of whom received saline placebo, were followed for a median of two months after receiving the second dose."

The FDA also discusses side effects: "The most commonly reported side effects, which typically lasted several days, were pain at the injection site, tiredness, headache, muscle pain, chills, joint pain, and fever. Of note, more people experienced these side effects after the second dose than after the first dose, so it is important for vaccination providers and recipients to expect that there may be some side effects after either dose, BUT EVEN MORE SO AFTER THE SECOND DOSE." (emphasis added)

The FDA also stated: "At this time, data are not available to make a determination about how long the vaccine will provide protection, nor is there evidence that the vaccine prevents transmission of SARS-CoV-2 from person to person."

As research continues, "The FDA also expects manufacturers whose COVID-19 vaccines are authorized under an EUA to continue their clinical trials to obtain additional safety and effectiveness information and pursue approval (licensure). "

On December 18, 2020, the FDA issued another EUA for Moderna COVID-19 vaccine. Just as with the Pfizer vaccine the FDA stated: "The FDA has determined that the Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine has met the statutory criteria for issuance of an EUA. The totality of the available data provides clear evidence that the Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine MAY BE effective in preventing COVID-19. (emphasis added) The data also show that the known and potential benefits outweigh the known and potential risks—supporting the company’s request for the vaccine’s use in people 18 years of age and older." (Pfizer is 16 and older)

Again the FDA included sample size: "…analysis of 30,351 participants enrolled in an ongoing randomized, placebo-controlled study conducted in the U.S. These participants, 15,185 of whom received the vaccine and 15,166 of whom received saline placebo, were followed for a median of more than two months after receiving the second dose."

Again side effects: "The most commonly reported side effects, which typically lasted several days, were pain at the injection site, tiredness, headache, muscle pain, chills, joint pain, swollen lymph nodes in the same arm as the injection, nausea and vomiting, and fever. Of note, MORE PEOPLE EXPERIENCED THESE SIDE EFFECTS AFTER THE SECOND DOSE THAN AFTER THE FIRST DOSE…" (emphasis added) Based on the lists, Moderna's vaccine seems to have more severe side effects.

While socially and politically we've seen the cowing of diverse opinions through the shame/blaming manipulation of population, it's time for that crowd to at a minimum realize that SCIENCE is not part of any shame/blaming acts as perpetrators of bullying and intolerance when it comes to the COVID-19 vaccines.
