Government Class: Jeb Bush

As reported in BUSINESS INSIDER and elsewhere (July 20, 2015,) Maxwell Tani, “Jeb Bush unveils his plan for 'disrupting' America's government,” http://www.businessinsider.com/jeb-bush-government-spending-plan-2015-7#ixzz3hkUtcDQy.

Jeb Bush wants to shrink federal government and make other changes in response to the unavoidable fact that the government class is being treated a lot better than the rest of America. But Mr. Bush omits a significant problem…CUTTING salaries to get them more in line with what other people in an area are earning. For those of us familiar with salary stall, it’s referred to as the MIDPOINT as calculated by the employer often resulting in ZERO pay increases for employees for YEARS.

It’s been brutal on American workers. Instead of the, “We’re not going to hire more people,” nonsense which we know from Obama only means they’ll subcontract out the work so that the money doesn’t look like it’s coming from expanding the federal government, it’s time for someone to commit to real-worldify (yeah it’s a made up word) the public employment class.

I think the American people have been pinched enough and when the government itself boasts that “…studies conducted by the Bureau of Labor Statistics reveal that the gap concerning benefits between the private and public sectors has been growing-in favor of the public sector,” http://gogovernment.org/government_101/benefits.php, it’s time for a change.

The issue is the urgency to STOP the entitlement of the government class based on antiquated notions of “public service,” or that government workers are underpaid, old-fashioned ideas used as excuses to entitle the government class to benefits packages that most of America hasn’t experienced in a decade.
