It was soothing listening to the President campaign until we realized it was false. Heck, even after his “signature” fib Obamacare was passed, people still hoped the law’s provisions would change and voted him in a second time.
Although there were plenty of changes unilaterally made by the government to the PPACA, only one arguably tangentially benefited a narrow group of consumers, those who benefited from the government changing the provisions of the Act to pay premium assistance to the unanticipated numbers of people who enrolled in Obamacare through exchanges not established by states under section 1311 of the PPACA.
Today we’re being soothed again with the Iran deal, details of which in terms of side deals are unknown.
Yet many choose to be more outraged by Donald Trump than our President who this week said and then agreed with himself that Americans opposed to the Iran deal are comparable to Iran hardliners.
Today, we’re being soothed into Obama’s questionable environmental goals (though he avoided his right-thing-to-do lecture when it came to fracking that went through in many states).
Today, some still believe Obama gives a rat’s butt for our poorest Americans though millions have been left out of the “miracle?” of Obamacare even as the President chose to pay out more in premium assistance to preserve his signature fib that not only is fraught with fraud paying out money on behalf of imaginary people but makes anyone who can fit any which way into income restrictions regardless of whether they’re worth thousands or MILLIONS eligible for government money.
Today some still believe Obama gives a rat’s butt for our poorest Americans though in 2014 the President signed into law legislation that cuts food assistance benefits by $8.7 over the next 10 years.
Today some still believe Obama believes that those who paid in for their lifetimes under the forced Social Security and Medicare taxes should suck it up as he funds Obamacare and his signature fib provides for the reduction in spending in Medicare as one of our largest groups reaches old age.
In fact absent the imaginary marketing that things could be even worse than what the President has done, life for many Americans has not been good under Obama and that’s what Donald Trump IS tapping into and efforts to isolate Trump indicate how important it is to today’s bully politician government employees to preserve their superior position.
The backlash from the public employee politician set has been universal, milking the system to keep the system going for their own benefit, classic bureaucracy. For me it makes Donald Trump a more appealing alternative than he might have been if he was being treated fairly. It illustrates though political influence is for sale it’s not so easy to break in for someone labeled an “outsider,” not even a billionaire outsider.
Donald Trump has highlighted current American politics: It’s not about change, it’s about more of the same. I don’t know if he would make a good President, but WHY are we afraid to try someone outside the usual scripted talking points and lies promulgated by those who will not succeed in doing away with the IRS, the Education Department, and the EPA or on the other side who seek to expand those departments’ authority further?
Living under Obama should have made us braver but instead some seem more afraid supporting a government class effort to resist change even as they impose negative changes on the American people.
Donald Trump’s blunders cannot be viewed as worse than the President’s so far because they’re not using the American people to finance them and Trump’s camp is not getting access to advertising them and selling the American people in order to mislead them.
We’ve been “soothed” into a mess by lifetime politicians and bureaucrats each supported by their own media. While I believe Donald Trump will become “more presidential” as time goes on, muzzling him will not change the fact that our current government class is more obviously working for itself than the American people.
